Recordings
Welcome everybody!
Starting on this Thursday Night, I'm restarting my gaming group. One of my fondest intentions is to record these sessions and post them online for others to
enjoy.
Its something I'm somewhat addicted to as a fan and would like to pay it back a bit to those that have provided me so many hours of gaming goodness.
Okay, here we go
. Last night we played our first recorded session, our fourth session in our warhammer fantasy rpg game. For those of you out there who are
Pratchett fans you'll see that I draw on Discworld a lot for some of my ideas on dwarfs and npcs.
This is
part one.  I learned, upon listening, that I have a big um problem. I promise that I'm going to work on that. Also, I tend to say y'know a lot, y'know? So I'll try
to watch that too.
Part
two and three are up now! And now Part 4   Links And parts 5 and 6.
I'm ashamed about part 3 because I lost my temper with two of my players. I'd like to apologize here and I'll do it in person when I see them.
I should have stopped the game and talked the problem out instead of losing my cool.
Something to work on.
CoC Character creation and first practice session:
Well, here we go. The girls didn't show up so we decided to go ahead and create CoC characters. When we finished, it was pretty early so we decided to go
ahead and play a bit,
get familiar with the system.
Character creation
And here's
part one of the impromptu session we decided to play to see if folks liked the system.
Now we gots
Part two of the impromptu session for you guys. Enjoy!
And here's the rest of our impromptu session for you.
Part 3 Part 4 and Part 5

And we're back once again with another session. This one is much shorter as we lost some time getting Melinda and Sasha characters made. Now, as they
made characters ten years younger than the other characters I couldn't really make them members of the same college club as the original characters. The
solution? I made Sasha's character the Granddaughter of Harvey Walters, the group's mentor. Melinda? Well, I gave her an unusual talent for half her hobby
points, making her Psychically sensitive at 45%. Its really just a gm's tool, to be honest. I made Melinda's character a girlfriend of one of the current characters.
This didn't work as well as I'd hoped.
Well, anyway, listen for yourself:
One Two Three Four
And we are Back again!
Yes  ladies and gentlethings, we are back with part 3 of our Cthulhu adventures. This session was a bit of a wash as folks decided to scrabble a bit but we
made some progress in the end. Hope you enjoy Session 3:
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 and Part 4
And once more we return to a world of horror:
Okay, this is session four of our CoC game. I'm not sure if, at this point, there will be a part five.
Hope you like it:

Mutants and Masterminds
Here's the recording of our first session of Mutants and Masterminds from Wednesday past. If you want to skip character creation go right to part four:

Session two
Sorry for the long break between uploads. I could just say it was the holidays but its also a bit of something else entirely: This session went badly near the end
but I've included everything, warts and all. So here it is, session two of M&M.

Session Three
In which our heroes find themselves in that old villain staple, the Deathtrap.
Cunning and punching abound.
Part One Part Two Part Three Part Four
Session Four
Okay, this session was a lot of fun. Stan returns and Mark does as well. The heroes are interviewed on TV, bribed, tricked and bombed.
But they're still punching. Almost like real heroes...
Part One Part Two Part Three    Part Four Part Five
Session Five!
We're back with lots more action and laughs as I expand the setting a bit to give the heroes more options. I'm not sure if its a good idea, though. Should I be
feeding them a tighter plot?
We shall see:

Session Six
Welcome back for session six of Mutants and Masterminds, Iron Horse City. This will be the last MnM session for a bit as we finally finish up the cycle of
Warhammer Fantasy and then move on to something else. Bryan is currently on the fence about running something as is Mark who continues to talk a lot
about doing Traveller.
Without further ado:

All Flesh Must Be Eaten one off
This was run last Friday night as a one off to give the players an introduction to the unisystem. We'd just finished two hours of talking about what we'd like to
play and then I broke out this old chestnut that I've run before. It was slow going and not much got done but they enjoyed it. Hope you will too.
The Archetypes they used are from Eden Studios Book of Archetypes 1 and 2.

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, 2nd Edition. Below the Ruined Temple
So, Friday night I had two players miss. I told the folks that we could either play my newly-purchased copy of Talisman, Mutants and Masterminds, or
Warhammer Fantasy. They chose Warhammer. As two players were missing, I decided that we would quickly make new characters. I decided to,
blasphemy, I know, let them choose their careers and used a 270 point pool to generate their initial characteristics.
This went very well, to my surprise. Not surprisingly, though, we did get some adventuring archetypes: Apprentice Wizard, Kithband Warrior, Mercenary, Thief
and an Initiate.
We all had lots of fun as I butchered an english accent for an Orc and, later, some halfling bandits.  I've always had a soft spot for Orcs, regardless of system
or setting. So, I decided that the village they were helping had some Orcs for neighbors. A band of them that had their own village, traded with da Humies
and had a generally positive relationship.
This did NOT sit well with the old school warhammer minatures player. But the other players poo-pooed him on this and he relaxed and much fun was had.
They got to the Orc fortress, built atop the ruins of the old temple, and were lowered into the subterranean level of that cursed place. There they are to seek
out the source of the beastman rumors that haunt the hills.
We didn't get past the first room in this initial session.
Enough of my blathering. Enjoy!

now,  Session 4
and finally Session 5
Call of Cthulhu with a dash of Arkham Horror        Updated! 3-19-08
We had a game planned for Saturday, to play Warhammer. Stan didn't show so we decided to play CoC. The downside was that two of the players didn't
have their characters with them. (gotta start scanning in those danged sheets!) So, what we did was take the
Arkham Horror setup and convert it to the RPG.
The players each selected a character card and built a character around it. They then set out to track down and close any gates they could find. The
Macguffin for finding the gates was the Scientist's flux stabilizer and also the Redeemed Cultist having witnessed a gate ritual prior to the start of play.
We had a lot of fun and we will definitely be returning to Arkham and taking the train to Dunwich again. Give it a listen here in two parts:
Part One is character generation. I can't tell you how much the character cards, with the four to five paragraphs of description on the back, helped the players
unfamiliar with Lovecraft's Mythos to get into the feel.
Part Two is the actual play session. And Part Three is what we did after we discovered the recorder
had run out of juice. From now on I will put in FRESH batteries before each session or plug the recorder in with the ac adapter. And this is part
Four!
And now for part 5.    And part 6. Sorry for the delay. Life will get in the way! :)
